HISTORY-Born in northern California. Ben moved to Massachusetts at young age. He began his acting career at the age of 8 in the PBS television series "The Voyage of the Mimi". He then went on to star in the movie of the week " Danielle Steel's: Daddy," NBC's dramatic series "Against the Grain," and the HBO telefilm "A Body to Die For; the Aaron Henry story", for which he was nominated for an Emmy. He moved to New York after High School, and soon starred with his longtime best friend, Matt Damon, in the film School Ties. After that Ben started making a name for himself starring in films such as Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused, and Kevin Smith's Mallrats. Kevin liked Ben so much that he wrote the lead in his next film with Ben in Mind. The film, Chasing Amy, was a huge success and paved the way for Ben's path to stardom. Ben then took Hollywood by storm by following up Amy with Good Will Hunting. Not only did they star in this amazing story of a troubled genius, but he and pal, Matt Damon actually wrote it as well. Even though it was decided Matt would play the title character, Ben still won rave reviews for his performance as Chuckie, Will Hunting's best friend. A million good reviews and some major awards later, GWH has won the Golden Globe for best screenplay, was nominated for 9 Academy Awards and took home 2. Best supporting Actor for Robin Williams, and Best Original Screenplay for Ben and Matt! Giving Ben his First Oscar at only 25 years old.
As if this were'nt enough, Ben's Hot streak does'nt show signs of cooling. He and Matt will reunite with fellow Actor Jason Lee, and Director Kevin Smith for Smith's next film "DOGMA", Where they will play 2 Outcast Angels determined to get back into Heaven, no matter what the consequences.
This summer he will star alongide Bruce Willis and a cast of other greats as A.J. Frost in the film "Armeggedon", Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (The Rock, Con Air) and Directed by Michael Bay (Bad Boys, The Rock), Armeggedon will tell anyone who still had a doubt, that Ben Affleck is here to stay!
