- Old links to professional
and practical sites - and some Internet search tips
- dk links
- se links - uk links - us links
- On Internet Search:
-
- Do You miss the easy access to my earlier
links pages - please let me know on bo.gronlund@vip.cybercity.dk
-
- I moved them to here because they need
to be updated (some links are dead, some new ought to be added)
- but that will have to wait as there are more than 800 links.
-
- If You get the message that the page
cannot be found, try to shorten the path of the Internet adress
(i.e. try a shorter version of the same URL),:
-
- - for example if a link to "www.something.com/what_ever/stuff.html"
does not work, then try the shorter "www.something.com".
-
- If You don't know where to find what
You are looking for, go to http://www.google.com and use the advanced search features.
-
- I think Google is the world's best
search engine for general use. At least my own pages come up
quite nicely in spite of the fact that I have never deliberatly
made any search engine aware of my site, nor does any of my pages
have invisible html metatags on content , that might help get
them better indexed automatically. To me, this is an indication
of Google's effeciency.
-
- Be aware that Scandianavian letters
can be tricky:
- - You might have to search several
times with variants:
-
- "å" might be "a"
or "aa" or "å"
- "æ" and "ä"
might be "a", "ae", "æ" or
"ä"
- "ø" and "ö"
might be "o", "oe", "ø"
or "ö"
-
- If You want to look for pages, that
are already ordered in an indexed form according to topics, go
to http://www.yahoo.com and select the country, You want information
from. Or try Netscapes' volontary index the 'Open Directory Project'
http://dmoz.org/
- here You also can find information on any country at http://dmoz.org/World/ eg, Denmark on http://dmoz.org/World/Dansk/
