My
name is Poul Norgaard - I was Base Photographer at Thule AB from 7. November 1972 to july
in the summer of 1976. Initially I worked at the Photo Hobby Shop - later transferred to
the Photo Lab (Audio Visual Service) - later again back to the Photo Hobby Shop -
and again later I substituted in various Base Services departments - Bowling Alley, Gym,
Service Club, Reproduction and PDO. A few times I went TDY at Sondrestrom Air Base.
Since I left in 1976, I have never been back - but who knows, in the future, people may go there for other reasons than work. But I did cross Southern Greenland brieftly in late 1976 - when I was flying a small single engine aircraft I had bought, from Colorado Springs home to Denmark - but that is a completely different story.
These pages will be devoted to Thule pictures, as I have noted other homepages dealing with the subject - and there seems to be an interest. As these pages begin in March 1999, I start out with some paper pictures, which are easy to scan in. I have hundreds of color slides - and when I get a workable method to scan them in also - they will be coming - so come back and look, this may take years.
I encourage you to take a look at the Thule links I have listed, if you don't know them already - and sign the guest books there. Should you know more links - please let me know.
Can you yourself contribute with pictures or narrations from the early days of Thule, this will be most welcomed - see Other than 1972-76.
Please be sure to look at "People", where I take the
opportunity to look for "lost friends". And whoever you are - should you happen
to remember me - or have other comments - please write to the address below - I am always
pleased to hear from anyone. Enjoy...... Poul

The picture above shows me at the top of Dundas mountain - where a
large stone woman resides.
Nobody seems to know who made it - and when..... Do you have any
information?
Late Year 2000: Many 72-76 Thule personnel starting to contact me - see Reunions
Latest January 2001: Through Christmas Season 2000 I was fortunate enough to borrow a 35 mm color slide scanner, and working almost day and nights, I managed to scan 2100 slides. Not all from Thule - but many are. Now remains the process of touching up, and setting up - so I expect throughout winter/spring 2001, several hundreds of color slides from Thule will be added.
