'...a collection of informal and unpublished writings by the late president of the British Ornithologists' Union. With contributed papers upon falconry and otter hunting, his favourite sports...'
'Contains a treatise entitled 'Falconry', written in the inimitable style of the Reverend Gage Earle Freeman, himself one of the greatest exponents of the art. As an introduction to the sport, this is probably the best short essay ever written. The xhole book is thoroughly recommended to the sportsman-naturalist." R. H. Barber, 'A Suppl. Bibl. of Hawking'

*** In danish. The article on falconry in the new danish national encyclopedia.
A nice and sober article. The informations are correct and up-to-date, contrary to most other articles on falconry printed in danish reference books. These often give impression of the writer duplicating old texts instead of researching for new informations. Mr Strandgaard shows a good understanding of the spirit of falconry. If one has to complain about something it must be that the existence of danish falconers or a danish hawking club is not mentioned. The article is illustrated with a quite uncommon bird in falconry - a black eagle. Jakob E. Borch
