About Tai Chi Chuan

Tai Chi Chuan is an old Chinese system of martial arts, where the
emphasize is put on developing the internal energy.

Tai Chi Chuan means, directly translated from Chinese: Tai Chi boxing.
But nowadays most people practice Tai Chi for the sake of health,
they practice every day to keep in shape and good health.

The basis of Tai Chi training is a set of 81 movements, which is done
very slowly and each movement flows into the next, as if it was one
long movement.

From the outside Tai Chi looks easy and relaxed, but it takes
full concentration from the very first movement.

Tai Chi has been passed on from master to pupil through centuries.
We teach the traditional Yang style that Master kai-Ying Tung learned
from his grandfather, who was one of the foremost students of Yang
Cheng-Fu, the founder of the Yang style as we know it to day.

Tai Chi Master Kai-Ying Tung was born in 1941. He has taught
throughout the Far east, USA and Europe, and now lives in California.
He has been doing Tai Chi for more than 50 years, and is outstanding
among the greatest masters in the world.

Tips for Tai Chi:

Always come to class a little bit before time, so that you are not stressed
or out of breath when you start.

Don't eat a large meal just before training.

Don't ask unnecessary questions. Use instead your eyes and ears.

Many people think they can learn Tai Chi in no time.
Others practice many years but never go deep.
If you want to learn Tai Chi, you must practice the movements that
you have learned. And you must have a new feeling every time.
Only this way can you learn Tai Chi Chuan.
Therefore it is better to go deep with the slow movements, rather than
strive to learn new sets.

One hour of training gives you one hour of benefit.
