is the lyric of man and the land, the song of the drops of sweat mixed with the drops of rain, the epic of the past and present, the ballad of heroes who love their country and eventually the symphony composed by intellectual, the labourer, the artist, the farmer and the child looking forward to a better future having lived up his/her glorious past in his/her country so vast, so fertile and so warm.

The famous Miss.Gertrude Bell (a Britsh vice administer in Iraq 1917-1923) once wrote;
"I have written of politics and of commerce,of steamships and locomotive engines,
but I have not pronounced the word which is the keynote of Iraq. It is romance.
Whereever you may look for it you shall find it. The great twin rivers, gloriously named ; the huge Babylonian plains, now desert,which were once a garden of the world,their story stretching back into the dark recesses of time-they shout romance. No less insistent on the imagination,and no later chapters of he history of Iraq.
The echoing name of Alexander haunts them, the jewelled splendour of Sassanian
king of Kings... and last (to English ears not least) the enterprise, the rigours, the courge...".
