Waiver draft rules

1)
Each team can protect 18 skaters (forwards and defencemen) and 2 goaltenders.

2)
The following players are eligible for waivers and has to be protected :
- Players 25 years or older
- Forwards and defenceman 24 years old or younger who has played 120 Games or more in the NHL
- Goaltenders 24 years old or younger who has played 60 games or more in the NHL
The cut-off date of the number of games will be the day before the protection lists are due.

Everyone else is exempt from the waiver draft.

3)
The draft order will be based on the Regular season standings from the previous season. Round one of the waiver draft will be for non-playoff teams only. In reverse order of last seasons standings. In the later rounds all teams will participate in reverse order of standings. The waiver draft will continue as long as teams are interested in picking players

4)
As in the NHL whenever a team selects a player they must expose one of the players they had originally protected. If they select a goaltender - they must expose a goaltender. If a skater (forward or defenceman) is selected - then a skater must be made available immediately.

5)
If a team (TEAM A) loses a player (PLAYER X) they have the right to immediate compensation from the team (TEAM B) that has claimed the player. That can be one of 2 things. 1) The player (PLAYER Y) TEAM B has exposed in order to claim the player (PLAYER X) from TEAM A ... or ... 2) Cash compensation. 1 Million dollars if the player is rated 69 ov or higher, 500.000 if the player is rated 68 or lower. The compensation is chosen by the team that loses a player (Team A).

6)
A team can lose a maximum of 2 players in the waiver draft..
