Born in 1910 in Haag in Holland. In 1936 Jan Cox moved to Antwerpen in
Belgium and studied at the Hoger-Instituut vor Schone Kunsten.
In 1945 Cox moved to Brussels and the same year he was one of the founders
of the group Jeune Peinture Belge, that became very important in Belgian
art.
In 1950 he got in contact with Cobra and he both contributed with a couple
of lithographies to the Cobra magazine and exhibited at the last Cobra
exhibition in Liège in 1951.
