Born in 1916 in Malmö. In 1946 C. O. Hultén was one of the
founders of the swedish group Imaginisterna, and he was the first from
this group to get in touch with artists from Cobra. The contact was Asger
Jorn. They both shared the same style and approach to painting, but despite
of this C. O. Hultén never joined Cobra, nor did he exhibit at
any of the two large Cobra exhibitions (an invitation to join the exhibition
in Amsterdam arrived too late).
Post-Cobra C. O. Hultén worked together with among others Dotremont.
