News 6/11-1999: Hans Backe on his way to estonia

After estonian papers is Hans Backe on his way to Estonia Estland as manager for the estonian national team as well as manager for the estonian champions FC Flora Tallinn (Andres Opers old club). The Estonian Footballasociation works on getting Backe released of his contract with Aalborg BK from January 1st 2000. If this leaves no success a unnamed manager from Aalborg BK should take control of the two teams (according to estonian papirs, this person will be assistant manager in Aalborg BK Lars Søndergård) . Estonia isn't ready for paying any money for Backe.
Hans Backe travels next week to Estonia to negotiate a contract.

News 2/11-1999: Great game by Oper

The estonian Andres Oper played a great game for his country in estonias 2-2 game against the United Arabic Emirats yesterday. Oper got a penalty and a beautiful goal - so all in all estonia won a point because of Oper.

News 1/11-1999: Århus GF-Aalborg BK 1-1 (1-0)

A pretty sad match again against one of small teams. Århus GF (AGF) is third last in the danish league and the game should have been a sure win for Aalborg BK. Our players started out great and controlled the match the first 15 minuttes. But AGF took over and had a couple of chances. It was a owngoal though by Aalborg BK's Jacob Kruger that put the lead onto AGF.
Aalborg BK was from the start of the second half again totally in control. And it was only after just four minuttes of the second half Aalborg BK's captain Jens Jessen who made the equalizer. Søren Frederiksen made the pass to Jessen with his heel, and Jessen scored a great goal. After the equalizer we had a lot of chances but missed them all, and we can thank our great keeper Jimmy Nielsen for the one point.

News 24/10-1999: Aalborg BK-Brøndby 3-1 (2-1)

Whoooa - a great game by the champions from Aalborg. Aalborg BK kicked Brøndby's bud all the way back to their island. Aalborg BK dominated the match totally and allready after 9 minuttes Andres Oper made the first goal - bringing the supporters to heaven. From there on it seemed like it was just a question about how great the victory would be.
The game ended 3-1 to Aalborg BK but it should have been 5-1 or 6-1. The Aalborg BK goals were made by Andres Oper, Jens Jessen and Lars Thomsen. The game was though defaced by the ugly-playing Brøndby players - it was amazing that none were sent off. It was more a pictory of a bad ref - than it was a picture of fair play.

A boring nil-nil game. Aalborg BK had the control, but the game was ruined by an incompitent ref. Besides him disalowing an Aalborg BK goal, he completely lost control of the match. Too bad that the ref stole two point from Aalborg BK.

Have you read this one before? It was crap! Aalborg BK controlled the game but lost. It's unbeleaveble that Lyngby FC get three shots at the goal - and scores three goals. But hey - thats football, and thats the charm! Aalborg BK's goals were scored by Lars Thomsen and Søren Frederiksen.

Super Oper Olé. What a magnificent game by Aalborg BK's new superman from estonia Andres Oper. Two goals in the dying minutes of the game. A pretty boring game got a really beautifull ending with Aalborg BK scoring four goals. Beside the two goals by Andres Oper, Ståle Solbakken and Anders Andersson scored a goal each - demolishing the leading team Herfølge.

This was really crap! Aalborg BK was at half time in front with 2-0 while playing 11 to 10 beacause AB had midfielder Jan Bjur sent off. But anyway AB managed to get even - scoring two crucial goals at the end of the second half. The Aalborg goals was scored by Lars Thomsen and Søren Frederiksen.

Aalborg BK is now history in the UEFA-Cup. Quite unlucky Aalborg BK lost at home tonight with 2-1. Aalborg BK played the best football but couldn't get the ball behind the line. The only Aalborg goal was scored by Jozo Matovac - we will be back again next year.

The CHAMPIONS is back. What a great victory!
3-1 on homeground against the weak-ones from Brøndby. Aalborg BK was in front 2-0 at half time by a goal from Søren Frederiksen and Jozo Matovac. The third Aalborg goal scored in the second half was made by Søren Frederiksen completing a great game from his side.

Another game without victory - it's becoming a bad habit. This time Aalborg played 2-2 on awayground against one of the buttomteams Vejle. Aalborgs games were scored by Anders Andersson and Brian Priske.

Aalborg BK have drawn FC Midtjylland in the next round in the danish cup. The game will be played the 5th of april 2000 on awayground.

Aalborg BK lost 1-0 in Udinese. It was a pretty good result. Udinese Calcio started very strong in the first thirty minutes, but Udine only made one goal - which was scored by Sottil.

Thomas Jensen is now history in Aalborg BK. Thomas Jensen is released on a free transfer and has signed a new contract with the german club Darmstadt, who playes in the league just under the 2. bundesliga.

News 9/9-1999: Jari goes to Lyngby FC

Jari Pedersen have signed a contract for four years with Lyngby FC. The contract starts from newyear and Aalborg BK will not earn any money because of the Bosman-ruling. Jari have so far played 60 games for Aalborg BK.

News 30/8-1999: Ståle not injured

Eventhough Ståle had to leave the pitch in sundays match against OB Odense, Ståle says that the injury isn't serious. It was a twist in the same knee, where he had the injury, that kept him out of action for about four weeks. Ståle thinks that he will be ready for AaB's next on Aalborg Stadium against Lyngby FC in two weeks. Lets just hope he is right.

News 29/8-1999: OB Odense-AaB 2-2 (1-1)

AaB and OB Odense draw 2-2 today in an intense affair. AaB played the worst of the season, and thats why OB Odense had a small advantage in this match. The former AaB's goals were scored by Allan Gaarde and Søren Frederiksen. AaB could have wun the game, if it hadn't been for the reff making a crucial mistake. Late in the second half he pointed at the spot, for handball against AaB-defender Thomas Bælum. But the handball was unintentional - so for two matches in a row a reff have spoiled a AaB-victory.

News 29/8-1999: Ståle Solbakken ready for OB Odense

Ståle Solbakken is now ready to play again. He is not completely fit for fight yet, but in fridays training he hadn't any problem, so he was between the 15 players who is going to meet OB Odense tonight. Ståle has already scrathed the Norways two games saturday and wednesday next week.

News 27/8-1999: AaB draws Udinese Calcio

The way things goes right now it wasn't a surprise that AaB have drawn Udinese Calcio in the Uefa-Cup - It's a surprise though that AaB didn't draw Juventus! AaB were unseeded i group 12, where AaB could draw four seede teams: FC Zürich, Deportivo La Coruna, Sparta Prague or Udinese. AaB were even more lucky that the first leg have to be played away. The two matches against Udinese will be played the 16th og 30th of August, but can be moved if the two clubs agrees.
Manager Børge Bach Andreasen thinks that AaB have a fair chance of going to the second round of the Uefa-Cup, when you keep in mind the great championsleague matches against Dynamo Kiev. Secondly AaB will be stronger for matches against Udinese when Norwegian national captain, Ståle Solbakken, is over his injuri. Italian reporters was depressed after the draw, beacause Udinese have drawn the strongest team. They find it certain that it will be a difficult couple of games, and can't predict which team will win. They keep in mind that Udinese have sold their absolute stars in the brasilian Amoruso to Parma and italian international Jonathan Bachini to Juventus.

News 25/8-1999: Kiev-AaB 2-2 (0-1)

Ohhh no! AaB 'lost' today to Dinamo Kiev with 2-2, after have been in the lead 2-0 just 15 minutes before the final whistle. AaB's goals were scored by Andres Oper after nine minutes and Allan Gaarde after 48 minutes. AaB played a really good match and had derserved better than Uefa-Cup, but hell as Lars Thomsen sais after the match: "We'll just the Uefa-Cup, then!" The best players for AaB tonight were Allan Gaarde, Anders Andersson and Andres Oper.

AaB have travelled to Ucraine to play Dinamo Kiev wednesday. AaB won tonights match against AGF århus with 1-0 after a goal from midfielder Allan Gaarde in the first half. AaB was the absolute controlling team, and the victory could easely have been a couple of goals greater. The best players in tonights match were Allan Gaarde, Anders Andersson and Jimmy Nielsen.

News 16/8-1999: Five from AaB called for national

Five AaB-players have travelled to play for their respective nationalteam. Jimmy Nielsen, Thomas Bælum and Brian Priske have been called for the danish U21-national who will play Hollan wednesday. Andres Oper have gone back to Estonia, who will play Armenia wednesday in their qualification for EC2000 - it will be Oper's 42nd appearence despite him being 21 years old. Ståle Solbakken have gone to Norway to be in the Norwegian nationalteam before wednesdays friendly against Turkey. It's allready sure that Ståle can't play wednesday, and that he maybe will play against AGF on saturday. Though it's more likely, he will play wednesday next week away against Kiev.

Brian Priske has been called in for the danish U21-nationalteam, and follows Jimmy Nielsen and Thomas Bælum to Svendborg to play Holland wednesday.

AaB have slain Silkeborg today. Despite the ref - despite Priske being sent off in the first half, AaB played a beautifull game with Jens Jessen as double goalscorer.

News 12/8-1999: AaB-Dynamo Kiev 1-2 (0-2)

AaB lost the first leg against Dinamo Kiev with 1-2. AaB started out much too nervous and impressed of the opponents, made two error in the defence-line and Kiev were on 2-0 before half time. In the second half AaB pressed Kiev backwards and could with a bit of luck scored one ore two more goals.

News 9/8-1999: Players reported fit for fight

Two players have been reported fit for fight. Both Jens Jessen and Brian Priske are fit for fight after todays training. Plus it's looks good for Staale, who counts on that he will play against Dynamo Kiev. The training went OK today for him, and he counts on playing the match with a tight bandage around his knee.

Ståle Solbakken is training again with the other AaB-players tuesday. The norwegian national team's doctors found that Ståle have a small injury in his knee, but whether the injury will keep him from participating in wednesdays match against Kiev, we'll know after training tomorrow. Ståle is optimistic - so we'll better be as well!

News 6/8-1999: Positive report on Ståle

Ståle Solbakken was checked today on the hospital in Aalborg and it was found that Ståle had a knock on the knee. Luckely for Ståle and AaB it wasn't a damaged or thorn ligament! It's still doubtfull if Ståle will be fit till wednesdays match against Kiev and first monday or tuesday we will be certain if Ståle can play or not.

News 6/8-1999: Ståle Solbakken is injured

Ståle Solbakken were injured i tonights game against FC C(rises).... It is not known yet how serious the injuri is, but Ståle said short after the match, that he felt something burst in the knee. We can know only hope that Ståle is going to be fit till wednesday. Ståle said more that he hopes to play, but that he can't say anything defenite befare the knee have been checked. Ståle contenious by saying, that he is ready to play on painkillers and that he will play even though he is in pain!

Jens Jessen got an injury under the match against Viborg this monday. What the injury is, is still unknown, but he haven't been training since the match.
This gives AaB even bigger problems in the defence, because both Priske and Boye won't be ready for the match against FC Copenhagen.

Brian Priske anounces that he probably will be fit for fight against Dynamo Kiev the 11th of august. He is a bit unsecure if he'll be in the starting eleven, because he's been injured for some time.

AaB is going to meet ucranian Dynamo Kiev in the 3rd preleminary qualification round for Champions League. Dinamo won yesterday 1-0 away over Zalgiris and won on aggregate 3-0. The first match is played in Aalborg the 11th of august.

News 3/8-1999: Oper impressed and happy

Goalscorer i mondays match against Viborg, Andres Oper, was of course extrmely happy for scoring a goal in his debut at homeground. Besides the joy over the great goal, was Oper very impressed and happy for the singing among the supporters. Oper, who usually plays for a 500 silent crowd in Estonia, didn't know what to do, when he was called down to the supporters to make a 'Fenerbache'. Luckyli AaB-captain Jens Jessen told Oper what to do.

News 3/8-1999: Stadiumneighbours makes life tough for AaB

Yet another time the pretty unintelligent neighbours to 'Aalborg Stadion' (stadium) have succeded in stopping the reconstruction of 'Aalborg Stadion'. The neighbours complained to the Naturedepartment for complaints about the reconstruction of 'Aalborg Stadion' and has been found right on the complaints. What kick the neighbours get from anoying AaB is hard to tell. All points in the complaint is completely redicilous and shows a complete lack of insight. But the neighbours have aperently grown mad at AaB and will do whatever it takes to stop the reconstruction. It's sad that a few people can ruin the joy for thousands and thousand of AaB-supporters.

News 2/8-1999: AaB-Viborg 2-0 (1-0)

Anders Andersson was the major player in AaB's extrmely convincing 2-0 vicotry over Viborg. AaB were superior was shown by Viborg having no shots inside the goal througout the whole match. AaB could with a bit of luck and precision have score four or five goals.

News 2/8-1999: 19-Year old player from Brasil in AaB

AaB's youthteam have expanded with the 19-year old brasilian attacker Joao Paulo Ferreira, who is in Denmark as a part of a student exchange program on 'Br&oslahs;nderslev Gymnasium'. AaB-coach Poul Erik Kristensen says that Ferreira is excellent with the ball but lacks speed and strength. Ferreira had his debut with AaB in saturdays 'danmarksseriekamp(non-league)' against Vorup - without scoring though. The match ended 2-2 after an AaB-lead with 2-0. AaB hasn't offered Ferreira a contract yet!

News 30/7-1999: Strandli will be fit soon

AaB's norwegean striker Frank Strandli will be fit soon. After a scanning yesterday it was determined that the injuri 'just' was a bleeding inside the knee. Strandli probably wont be ready for mondays match against Viborg, but there is a good chance he will play against FC Copenhagen and of course Dynamo Kiev. Right defenders Brian Priske and Torben Boye will also be fit again after injures in a week or so, so they will be ready for the match against Dynamo Kiev. Last but not least Dan Sahlin is still recovering from his injuri. The docters say that Sahlin will play again in 3 to 4 months.

News 30/7-1999: Lars Søndergaard wants to be Manager

AaB's assistentmanager Lars Søndergaard wishes to stop in AaB when his contract with the club ends in a year. He has the urge to manage his own team, and is already mentioned as a new manager in Frederikshavn or Hjørring. Lynge Jacobsen states that he is surprised in Søndergaards statement, because he haven't descussed with Lars how the situation will be when Peter Rudbæk takes over AaB in one and a half year from now.

Dynamo Kiev have slain Zalgris in the first leg in the two teams 2nd round preleminary qualifying round. The match, which was played in Kiev, ended 2-0 to Kiev!

Thomas Jensen is going to Trelleborg after all. He was hit by the fly, the same day he was scheuduled to go to Trelleborg, and the trip was cancelled. Maybe Thomas Jensen will go to Trelleborg after recovering his flu.

Frank Strandli's old club Panathinaikos have made an aproach on AaB-striker Søren Frederiksen. Søren Frederiksen have a clause in his contract that he can be released if he get the 'right' offer.

AaB is still having problems with injuries. Seven players are out: Frank Strandli, Dan Sahlin, Kent Hangaard, Jacob Larsen, Thomas Gaardsøe, Torben Boye and Brian Priske. AaB will be without Jacob Krüger i mondays match against Viborg FF because of him being sent off against Herfølge. There are rumours though from the team that attacker Kent Hangaard and midfielder Thomas Gaardsøe will be ready for mondays match!

AaB lost the first game in the season with 1-3. AaB, who gave debut to newcomer Andres Oper, didn't at all play well and deserved the defeat. AaB's only goal was scored by the captain og the norwegian nationalteam Ståle Solbakken. Better luck next time!

AaB's defender Thomas Jensen is in Trelleborg (Sweden) to try out for their team. Sources tell us that Trelleborg is interesting in leasing Thomas Jensen the season out. In Swedish terms it means until november.

News 23/7-1999: AaB meets Dinamo Kiev again (maybe)

The draw for the 3rd Champions League preleminary round was made today. AaB wasn't that lucky because they've drawn Dinamo Kiev (Ukraine) or Zalgiris Vilnius (Lithuania), which depends on the outcome of the 2nd round preleminary. The first game (AaB at home) is to be played the 11th of August and AaB goes to Kiev (probably) the 25th of August. It's the second time AaB meets Dinamo Kiev in the preleminary. Last time AaB lost 0-1 away and 1-3 at home, but Kiev was later that year excluded for bribing a referee.

AaB have six injuries before the season starts this sunday on awayground againt Herfølge. The injured players are Torben Boye, Jacob Larsen, Brian Priske, Thomas Gaardsøe, Kent Hangaard and Dan Sahlin.
