To find the dictionary form of a word remove the endings: Nouns can have the endings: Articles: -n, -en, -t, -et, -ne, -ene (gård-en, gård-ene) Plural: -e, -r, -er (gård-e, have-r, mark-er) Genitive: -s (gård-s, gårde-s, gården-s, gårdene-s) Order of endings: Noun + plural + article + genitive Eg: gårdenes gård + e + ne + s (=of the farms) Adjectives can have the endings: Gender: -t (stor-t, gammel-t) Plural: -e (stor-e, ung-e) Irregularities: (gaml-e = gammel) Verbs can have the endings: Infinitive: -e or no ending = Dictionary form (lev-e, spis-e, bo, gå) Present tense: -r, -er (spis-er, gå-r, lev-er) Past tense I: -de, -ede (leve-de, bo-ede) Past tense II: -te (spis-te, køb-te) Perfect tense: -t, -et (leve-t, køb-t, bo-et) Passive voice: -s (leve-s, købe-s) Irregular verbs
